Hands-on Learning

Learn about post-and-beam framing and how to safely and effectively use basic hand and power tools in a fun, supportive environment while helping to build a tiny building for Terra Corazon Farm. During this one-day workshop, we will cut and install the post and beam frame for the 120 square foot straw bale building. We will also frame an opening for a door and a window. The class will be a mix of talking about building and hands-on doing. This is a rare opportunity to participate in a real build where your safety and education are the primary focus.

Workshop Tuition

$220 for the full day

Limited to 6 participants

Location at Terra Corazon Farm in Valley Center, California

No previous experience with carpentry required. All tools will be provided for your use during the class. Taught by Rebecca Tasker and Mike Long, general contractors and co-owners of Simple Construct Naturally Healthy Homes.

*This workshop is geared towards women, who are traditionally left out of building trades, but the workshop is open to all gender identities.
