Hands-on Learning

Strawbale building is a technique that takes bales of straw, a product leftover from food production, and turns them into super-insulated, natural, non-toxic, high-performance buildings. Join local experts to learn first-hand about this innovative and sustainable way to build.

Learn about straw bale building in a fun, supportive environment while helping to build a small building at Terra Corazon Farm. During this one-day workshop, we will shape and install the straw bales in the walls of this 120 square foot post-and-beam building. We will also straighten the bale walls and prepare them for clay plaster. The class will be a mix of talking about building and hands-on doing. This is a rare opportunity to participate in a real build where your safety and education are the primary focus.
